My values circle

Personal values help you create an even more enjoyable (working) life. For example, if your job does not align with your personal core values, this can start to rub and chafe in the long run. So getting clear on your personal values is a must. Getting started with finding your values? This canvas will help you get started.

Personal values indicate what you find most important in your life. It is what you really stand for: it is your 'fire' or 'engine'. They form your inner compass, as it were. Where a compass points the way during your journey and keeps you on course, so do values. They are the signposts in your (working) life. You can act on them every day. Personal values indicate how you want to behave as a person towards yourself, others and the world. Values differ from person to person. For example, one person may be totally committed to the values of growth, adventure, love and creativity, but this need not be the case for you.

How to use the My values circle?

The exercise begins with: You stand here... It then goes on to literally where you stand. To concretize this position, in the first shell you fill in for each quadrant various topics that are important to you.

Then in the 2nd shell you write (with post-its) which activities you actually perform within the quadrant.

Then in the 3rd shell you describe what values are important to you. Now comes the exciting part of this exercise. Analyze whether the values that are important to you fit the activities you perform for each quadrant (work, health, play & love)?
